mixed media on water color paper... did this three months ago... did alot of mistakes here starting with the ball point pen outline for the unicorn-centaur... did that cause I was initially thinking more of an illustration piece, I wanted the silhouette of the bones to appear as much as I wanted to define the outline of his ghastly skin but the effect was difficult to achieve using the ball point pen... I didn't have water color paints so I improvised using diluted tech pen ink for the blues, liquid paper for the whites and henna for the blacks/browns... yeah and I didn't have my brush set that time to... just a large round nylon bristle brush and that small brush from the liquid paper container... I really want to do this again cause as it ages the ink from the ball point pen surfaces, guess it's because when I apply wet paint to cover the pen lines, the water color paper absorbs it... yeah well just technical stuff I learned in the water color class... |
