Merfolk Rising by none4ROMiR Merfolk Rising by none4ROMiR
Finally done coloring! This is the [link] when I first post this.

Well I hated how I inked her hair back then... didn't wanna clean it up so there, turned it into water...
I think I ought to add a bit of splashes on her body but i think leaving it like that's ok aswell.

I think I did a nine hour job on this... split within the week... had other stuff to do of course... I seriously need to make cleaner line art cause the clean up here really ate alot of the time, coloring was quick, it's the clean up that... yah i said it, iknow...

I called her Eve... just this week cause I worked on her before I take a shut eye... seems to suite her though.

Well ther another Undeath of Mythology for me [and you], hooray!

Oh and...
Merfolk cause "mermaid" didn't sound as good with rising...

I like the spooky cyborg-like appearance of this mermaid, and how her hair is made of water.

Have spent a good few minutes observing this piece, very nice work! Love sort of 80-90's touch to the coloring, and the concept itself is great.

Thanks :D Well when I first used Photoshop, I really didn't get the deal with all the filters and effects and the layers etc etc especially when one type of filter is applied on a drawing... looks darn stupid.

So i started combining effects trying not to change the original art too much, wouldn't want it to look like photoshop did all the work of course...

I paint the whole thing first then apply suitable filters that will improve the look... Just like that.

I'm not 100% sane right now, did I made any sense?

lol yeah made perfect sense, its the layers i dont get, i think if i can get to know that then i should be fine.

think of it as plastic sheets over each other... you can see what you've done on the other layers but when you start working on your selected layer, the other layers won't be affected... that way you can separate coloring the foreground and the background and other details w/o messing the other layers when you decide it doesn't look aok... hope this would lead you somewhere/ shed some light... :D
